The Paper Diamond sound has raw energy and the kind of dramatic anticipation only a seasoned producer can incite. Driving beats and bass grab on tight while deep, rich tones rumble under layers of spacey synthesizers, sweet melodies, and catchy vocals. One thing is for sure. The energy is high.



Crawling out of the same noisy, arty New York underground that sired Sonic Youth and Lydia Lunch, Swans created a dark, abrasive, murky, slowed-down noise-rock that served as a starting point for their ruminations about alienation, depression, depravity, and the disturbing side of human nature. 



Brooklyn's Holy Ghost! are Nicholas Millhiser and Alex Frankel. The duo was originally part of the live rap group Automato whose debut was produced by DFA's James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy. Nicholas is also part of The Juan Macleans live band. Now they've stepped out on their own to be among the leaders in the current disco revival that is quickly takin over dance floors across the globe, using these amazing analogue sounds...



apandroids (aka JPNDRDS) is a two piece band from Vancouver, BC. This 'band' started in 2006 as a creative outlet for the post-teenage angst of Brian King and David Prowse. Originally intended to be a trio, the boys decided to forgo the logistical nightmare of having a 'lead singer' and do it themselves. As a consequence, Japandroids are 1 guitar, 1 set of drums, and 2 vocalizers. They call it garage rock. They don't care what you call it, as long as it's not minimal. Japandroids are maximal - a two piece band trying to sound like a five piece...

ZZ Top plays red-hot Texas boogie and blues, and no one does it better - or has done it longer - than this “little ol’ band from Texas.” The trio’s enduring appeal owes much to their mastery of and feel for rootsy forms. Guitarist Billy Gibbons, bassist Dusty Hill and drummer Frank Beard were influenced by such blues masters as Freddie King, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Muddy Waters and John Lee Hooker. From the beginning they took a hard-rocking power-trio approach to the blues, cultivating a new audience for it in the Seventies and Eighties with superior musicianship as well as attitude, style and some devilishly funny songs.



Compton, California's Kendrick Lamar initially rapped as K. Dot and released a series of mixtapes under that name. Youngest Head Nigga in Charge (2003), Training Day (2005), and C4 (2009) preceded his decision to go by his birth name. Overly Dedicated, released in 2010, was the first Kendrick Lamar mixtape and fared well enough to enter Billboard's R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart that October. Lamar's first official album was released the following year; Section.80, issued on Top Dawg Entertainment, entered the Billboard 200 at number 113. From 2009 through 2011, he appeared on tracks by Big Pooh, Jay Rock, Tech N9ne, and Game. A 2011 concert with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Game found the trio dubbing him "The New King of the West Coast," something Dre endorsed again by signing Lamar to his Aftermath label. His official debut, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, landed on Aftermath a year later, with guest shots from MC Eiht, Drake, and Dr. Dre



Earl Sweatshirt (formerly “Sly Tendencies“)was born under the name Thebe Kgositsile on February 24, 1994. He is currently a rapper and member of the hip hop music group known as OFWGKTA (Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All). The group OFWGKTA is from South Los Angeles, California and came together and began recording music in Syd the Kyd and Taco’s house also called by members as “The Trap.” Although Earl Sweatshirt is three years younger than Tyler the Creator, he has been touted by many as being the best rapper in the OFWGKTA group.
